Our holiday starts with a flight to Cairns, then a short chauffeured drive to our accommodation. This welcoming seaside town is the heart of the Great Barrier Reef and wet tropics rainforest, and has an esplanade lined with cafes and restaurants and a sheltered swimming lagoon to enjoy each day.

• Explore Kuranda, the village in the rainforest, where you can shop, dine and visit the koala gardens and butterfly sanctuary
• At Harley’s Crocodile Adventures you will learn all about these fearsome but interesting creatures. Watch them feed and then head behind the scenes to meet some smaller and cuter reptiles
• Visit the world-famous Great Barrier Reef and marvel at the beautiful coral cays
• Spend a day on Green Island and explore the white sandy beaches, coral reefs and marine life
• Wander along the esplanade, feel the sea breeze, stop for a dip in the lagoon and soak up the relaxed tropical lifestyle
